@Off3nd3r, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Make sure the full-featured driver is installed on the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver. (If not already installed)

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

(a) Open HP Printer Assistant (double click printer icon on desktop),

(b) Select Scan a document or photo,

(c) Click Advanced settings,

(d) Change location from Destination tab.

On the printer assistant, go to scan > manage scan to computer and make sure it is enabled.

Try scanning from the printer screen.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

The printer was working fine for 3 months. I’ve reinstalled the driver multiple times, rolled back windows updates etc. I found a solution though, replaced it with a Cannon.
