the sprocket is printing all of my photos sideways despite what they look like in the app prior to printing.

I've tried every edit option, same result. Have you tried updating firmware? I tried clicking update firmware, but the button doesn't do anything.

I’ve also tried the firmware button and nothing as well. Disappointed as I’ve ruined almost a full pack of printer paper.

yeah, hopefully it gets resolved. I think they might be related. Do you have the camera? When I take a photo with the sprocket, it prints correctly.

Same thing happening to me! Wasted paper trying to fix it, but nothing worked. Even reset everything. I think the new update messed it up

Hi @Cassidysm,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Photo Orientation:

  • Before printing, ensure that the photo orientation is adjusted correctly within the sprocket app.
  • Use the edit feature to rotate the image if necessary.

Update Sprocket App:

  • Ensure your sprocket app is updated to the latest version. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements.
  • You can update the app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Update Printer Firmware:

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

Verify Print Settings:

  • Ensure that there are no settings within the app forcing rotation of the photos before printing.

Re-enable Permissions:

  • Sometimes permissions related to photo gallery and camera need to be re-validated.
  • You can enable these permissions in the app settings.

Reset Printer:

  • Try resetting the Sprocket printer to default settings. This can often resolve unexpected behavior.
  • To reset, follow the instructions in your printer manual.

I hope this helps.

I have the same issue. This only happened recently after I updated the app. No matter what I do, it keeps printing with the huge black bars on the side. I’ve reset the printer and gave permissions again to access photos but the issue still persists. I’ve rotated the photo around and it still prints  landscape mode. I’ve wasted a whole pack already. 😞
