Hello,
I have hp slate 7 HD 3403el (beats audio), i made update from parameter menu, then had problem booting so i made 'wipe factory reset' from recovery.
tablet reboot but freeze in hp logo, it wont boot to home screen.
I downloaded latest firmware from hp, here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4153&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=6525...
when i try to apply update from external storage i get this:
-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package ...
Opening update package ...
Verifing update package ...
Installing update ...
assert failed: !less_than_int(1395320680, getprop("ro.build.date.utc"))
Installation aborted.
after some googling i delete first line of META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script
"assert(!less_than_int(1395320680, getprop("ro.build.date.utc")));"
this is using winrar.
then i had when applying update:
-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package ...
Opening update package ...
Verifing update package ...
Installation aborted.
i thaught about that line, si i aded a space in another file, so to see if the update.zip is still good, i had same.
i thaught about signing the zip after modifing, so i signed it with apksign, nothing.
please help me!

Hi
I cant help with a solution, but can tell you that you are not alone.
I have a slate 6 and have this issue on two different devices.
I have a case open with support and they have escalated the issue last week.
I still have not heard back, but when I do, I will reply here.
You could also raise a case as then it will be seen as a bigger problem than just a few devices

You get that error because your build is more recent, you may want to contact the support to help you solve your issue.
If you're not patient enough to wait for their reply I really recommed you to visit this forum www.forum.xda-developers.com

Hi
the date is one reason on the web that this error can appear, but as this file is used to restore the image and not just update. then it should not check the date.
This is an error regardless of the date as you should always be able to rerstore to a stable version even if its the one before the one you have installed.
in other devices from other manufacturers, you can locate "STOCK" firmware and do the same thing, but for some reason these HP files are not working.
I will also say that I have one device with firmware from Feb and the latest on the web is from a few weeks ago.
I get the same error!
SO the date varification or some other varification is wrong.
