I had the same issue with my first Touchpad... would "connect" but unable to actually access Internet. All my other wireless devices (including Palm Pre) connected without difficulty. After multiple attempts, and then repeatedly hitting the "start over" button, it started spontaneously rebooting. Spent 2+ hrs with Tech Support, who likewise told me it must be my Verizon Actiontec router. I gave up and returned the Touchpad.
I subsequently got Verizon to send me a new router, and bought another Touchpad. It connected fine. I then tried the old router, and the (new) Touchpad connected fine to that one too. Seems to confirm the original touchpad was faulty. Unfortunately, I'll be returning my second Touchpad, since the Citrix Receiver app does not (currently) support SSL, so I cannot use it at work (my primary reason for buying).

Hey, thanks this is the first post that has made any sense!!! I will get with my HP rep later this week and see if I can get another one. Most of the other posts did not notice that my other wireless devices worked great, it is only the HP that has trouble, if it was the wirless router, done of the other wireless devixces would work correctly. They gave me all the reasons to check this and check that and that would make sence if nothing was working (security, MTU, and other things) but YOU MAKE SENSE!! Thanks for the post.

Please let us know if the new TP connects correctly.

so, I have had several problems with certain hotspots. My house was fine, had a problem at the airport hotspot which is unsecured totally, also had a problem at another place where I installed the router. In both cases, it would connect then after a couple minutes it would stopped responding and say no network connection. I tried to forget network, reboot, etc to no avail. It would just say configuring IP address and then would say it failed. at the airport, I connected with my laptop with no problem, so I checked IP config for all the manual settings. I deselected automatic IP settings, and then updated everything manually, gateway, subnet mask, DNS, all based on my Laptop settings. I guessed at an IP address, but it worked. Now it stays connected, I tried everything else for like an hour to no avail. That worked for me.

I think there is more to the problem guyguy. I know exactly the error you are getting. At my local coffee shop the first day I connected to their hotspot no problem now it connects but when I try to go surfing it tells me no internet connection yet I show connected. An I have tried everything. Very frustrating. Never seam to get any real answers
