Had difficulties with connecting to my wifi. Initially connected and got logged into my hp acct, but soon after got a 'no internet connection' when in the browser. Not being a router expert, but I know I have a Netgear WNDR 3400, I didn't get all the security changes, mac address stuff or anything. I didn't want to change the settings because EVERYTHING else connects to my wifi fine (laptops, palm pre, roku, kindle.) So instead, I set my security settings to none, connected the touchpad with my wifi and successfully used the browser. Then I turned the security setting back to what it was and haven't had any issues since then (yesterday.) I hope my luck holds out!

Hi I see that you told this person what to do but they never replied. Well I clicked on it does bring up the IP settings for my device and ask me to fill in:
ADDRESS:
SUBNET:
GATEWAY:
DNS SERVER:
DNS SERVER:
Why is it asking me for all this - IDK what that stuff is and or where to find the information. I thought connecting to my wifi would be as easy as my ipod...?

Hi and welcome to the HP Support Community.
The TouchPad does not get "set up" for PC or Mac. If the device was not wiped clean from its prior owner, you do a Full Erase to start off from scratch. Then see if the TouchPad detects your wireless network...it should...enter your password and give it a go.
To manage your wireless settings, you have to access your router from a computer connected to your network. You do this though the browser, and enter the router's address (e.g. 192.168.1.1). You will need to know the name and password which you set up initially. If you never changed anything, check the router manufacturer's info about default settings, which might be something like "Admin" as user, and "password" as password.
