I have only just bought this so that I can take bookings on the move for my hotel.

I tried to download my booking software which is an .msi file.

I got the 'cannot open MIME' message.

No problem. Looked it up and there apear to be solutions howevr all of the sulutions I try to download give me the same message.

Its looking like this touchpad is virtually useless unless I want to surf the net or socialise.

An .msi file is a Windows Installer file.  It only runs on Windows.  The TouchPad does not run Windows, it runs webOS.  The .msi has never and will never work on the TouchPad as it's a Windows application only.

Was there an answer on this?  My library doesn't allow me to download .pdf files, it must open them from the browser.  I can't believe this would not be supported on WebOS.

I don't believe the TouchPad webOS browser has a plugin for Adobe Reader.  That is why you can't read the PDFs within your browser.

I want .pdf files to open in Adobe, but from a link in my browser without downloading. That's when I get the MIME type error. In my windows browsers when I click on a link to a .pdf file it opens in a .pdf reader. That's all I'm trying to do. It's not like I can right click and do a save-as to download the file, right? So as it stands no one can use WebOS to read a .pdf file unless it's sent to them them? Wow, am I glad I only paid $100 for my TouchPad.

I think we should have a meeting with HP in Lafayette Indiana as well about this issue. For a dead OS they should offer a way to easily open it up so they are not just $99 paper weights.
