I just bought my new HP TouchPad and I can honestly say the OS and Web browsing is amazing! Very impressed overall! Anyways, the one thing I've noticed is that I am unable to download .doc or .pdf files from websites. It appears to download but then does not let me open it. It gives me the Cannot open MIME type error that everyone is talking aobut. That's one thing that really sucks. I bought 2 of these for me and fionce to do school work with but if we cant even download the class syllubus or assignments, it defiets the purpose.

Are there any plans on updating this so that downloading of documents from websites can be done?

same issue.  File downloads do not work.  How could this have ever been released with this error?  HP...we are waiting for a response!

The Adobe and Quick Office updates hit today.  Tried them yet?

Yes did the update. However, that didnt change the browser's ability to download documents or pdf's from websites. That still does not work.

Just wondering if anyone has found a fix or workaround of this?

I get the mime errors and I also get random encrypted-looking word documents to download sometimes...it seems the touchpad does not download the files fully as they are much less (some like 1.2KB) than what the file size actually is.

I have adobe and quickoffice updated and still cant open pdf or excel files. I get the cannot open mime type message.  This problem needs a fix.

Hi... I created an account to play this MMO called Vindictus. (I was using my touchpad) When i tried to download it this error message popped up and said it doesn't support MIME type. ??? I guess I can't play my game on the touchpad but i figured I might as well inquire about this issue.                                                                                                                                                            P.s.- I know nothing about this touchpad thing...please help :smileysad:

If you are trying to download a windows file, it won't work on the TouchPad since you are now running a new OS!  The touchpad runs webOS - not Windows, Android, or iOS...

I am also having an issue with opening a file.  I am trying to open an xlsx file and am unable to.  If gives me the same message everyone else gets.  I try saving it yahoo mail and it says it saves but i can't find it on here once it won't open either.  Any ideas would be great.

Thanks.
