After using the touch pad one next, next morning it completely became dead.

I thought the battery might have drained.

So connected to the charger.

But after that nothing has been seen on the screen.

I have tried all the five ways to make the HP back in working condition, mentioned on Touch Pad support.

In the fifth step it says to install WebOS doctor.

I did that too and when i coonect the device to laptop, the device is detected by laptop, but the WebOS doctor does not highlight next button.

I have kept it charging with USB port for 4-5 hours.

But still it not working.

Kindly, help me as soon as possible.

Regards,

Sangee

Thanks,

I need to connect touchpad to the laptop and will it give instructions to make my touchpad active.

Hope I am right?

Even though it could be too obvious, but i am new with it. Kindly excuse me if i asked too obvious questions.

THanks once again

Once again, you will have to follow the directions exactly as written in the thread we linked you to.  Just connecting the touchpad to the pc will not fix anything - you have to download the two programs, unzip and extract one of them, change the directory, then execute the program.

Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the HP Support Community.

There are many threads here about TouchPads now powering up, not charging, etc.  Here is one of them.  Scroll down just the first page of threads on this board and you'll see others.

Loading Ubuntu is just the start of the fix!

You have to follow the rest of the directions.  Download the required programs, then execute the command line instructions to run the program.

Good luck!

Ubuntu is loaded on a PC which is then used to debug the Touchpad.  It is not loaded on the Touchpad....

I followed the steps in the same order and my touchpad started working. I am really greatful to the developer who took time in resolving this issue.
