Andy,
If you use your tablet a lot and the power adapter issue becomes worse, you might consider trying a charging stand. I don't own one but I've seen them as cheap as $22 bucks on Ebay and $40 at other locations.
Many people wouldn't bother investing one penny into this tablet but if you find that your tweeks have improved it enough where this tablet becomes worthy of a $22 buck investment then you might check it out.
In fact, me just mentioning putting more $$ into this flawed tablet will probably have a number of people condemning my post but if you get it to be a useful product again for you, then I just thought I'm mention it. I'm not guartaneeing it will work but I think the tablet under it's own weight on a stand would improve or fix your charging issue.
Good luck

Hello - I have an issue where my Touchscreen on my Omni 10 has just stopped working. When you said that it qworked again after uninstalling and reinstalling the I2C HID Device Driver. Did you uninstall both of them? as I have 2, one seems to be ok and the other has an exclamation Mark on it
thanks
Sara

In case you never get an answer from anyone about the HID device driver, I thought I'd let you know that I went down that route and it never provided a fix for me.
What works for me is the bend trick. If you go back a few pages you'll see how to do it.
Just to let you know that it works for me about 80% of the time. Sometimes when the bend trick doesn't work, then a simple restart will work the other 18% of the time. And about 2% of the time, 2 restarts will fix it but that is very rare.
Some have posted putting a piece of plastic filler to put pressure on the part that needs to be pushed/bent, but like I said that discussion is back a page or two.
I've used my tablet daily for a couple of years now and most of the time it works but these little issues are very annoying.

After trying various so called software solutions I bit the bullet and took the back off switched on and lo and behold the touch screen worked. I tightened up the screws several of them were "loose". Use the advice that is given in the maintainance manual to use a stiff plastic card like a credit card type. Lever open caefully from betwwen the on/off button and the camera.
It worked for me, i note that someone had recommened putting rubber strips between the back and the mobo.
regards

Hi,
I just read all the posts on this issue and I want to share my experience.
Yesterday was the last day of my extended warranty and I call HP Tech support to find out what they can do about this issue.
This is my third oMNI 10, the previous 2 tech support replaced them with refurbished units. After workin for a while they all developed th same problem. This time when I called I was looking to find if there was a solution and they offered to send me a refurbished one again. I know it will still have the same issue.
I learned to live with it, even if I'm frustrated. I tap it on the side a few times when it's booting up and most of the time this returnes the touch and pen support. I had not read this forum, so I can see that I'm not alone.
HP is not doing anything but offering to send me refurb's one.

Thanks 2 Zhirik
Wow - Tried all the re-installs and resets (BIOS and Drivers) and disables and Dell Intel drivers - No joy : (
Tried the "Press the Back HP Logo method" (heard a slight "click")
Booted and all good again - Yippee
Didn't think it would work as the touchscreen worked in the BIOS ??? Strange !!!
But it did work - So BIG Thanks

hi folks,
i have exactly the same difficulties with my loved omni10 tablet, and i got used to the theory of a hardware problem with the screen cabel. A few days past nothing worked, so i decided to go the way things are going, skip that touchscreen crap and conect my old thyphoon mouse with the usb.
Everything worked right. Even the touchscreen. So I disconnected the mouse and i'am writing this here on my loved omni 10 wihout any problems.
live long and prosper.
Scotty ? Gimme Dorp 2
