Hello,
We have an HTTP(not HTTPS) provisioning server that works perfectly fine with the exception of logs.
I read that HTTP servers used for polycom provisioning do not allow appending log files which seems to match our issue.
Does anyone know, definitively, that using an HTTP server for Polycom phone provisioning will not allow logs to be appended and uploaded to the provisioning server?
Thanks
Sean

Hello @Sean_Stanley66 ,
Welcome back to the Poly Community.
Nobody responded to this post >here< either. Not knowing what server you use aka IIS or Apache or some other flavour it's hard to provide advise.
A colleague has told me in the past that IIS as an example cannot natively append. Its entirely up to the creation of a custom plug-in or extension in order to get that ability.

Hi Steffen,
Thanks. We are using IIS.
So if append is not natively supported, where do I go from here?
We are chasing an issue and actually need the logs to append.
Is IIS officially not supported by Polycom since it doesnt work with append?
Late in the game now to find this out unfortunately, been running an HTTP IIS provisioning server for almost 5 years.
Would support be the best place to work on this? Just looking for options.
Thanks
Sean

Hello @Sean_Stanley66 ,
It's simply not a build-in facility with IIS. I assume you can utilize a search engine and try to find a way to enable this.
Or use FTP which can do this.

Thanks again, Steffen.
I found your post that offered a great solution, send the logs to a separate FTP server:
"
A "normal" IIS server is unable to append using HTTP or HTTPS. Utilising HTTPd, Apache or any other flavor of HTTP/HTTPS servers should work.
The LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY="" can be used to define a FTP server instead. Example:
- LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY="ftp://username:password@domain"
"
At the risk of stepping out of bounds on this topic, my real reason for needing logs is a sign out issue we see with VVX phones.
Could you provide the log module levels to get good logs on this issue? We are Skype 2015 on-prem.
I saw your other post and it mentions sign in issues but not sign out.

Appreciate the help.
Thanks
