I have an HP Pavilion 15-e043cl Notebook PC with Model name E5K58UA I purchased August 2013. My best friend purchased the same make/model from the same place 2 weeks prior to myself. We have BOTH have had this same issue almost from the beginning. Speaking for mine...it has become increasing worse to the point I don't know if it will charge OR boot up the next time I attempt to turn it on. I have it "taped" the only way it will charge now. That changes almost daily, so I will have to move it around and re-tape it. We feel this was a hardware design issue from almost the time we purchased them. Unfortunately neither of us purchased the extended warranty. This was mainly in part that we bought them at Costco with my Costco AmEx which used to add an additional year to the warranty and apparently do not now. I have been researching and feel it is the connection jack in the computer. Can anyone confirm that and, if so, where would you recommend I purchase a replacement? I don't want to spend a ton of money given these were $399 new. I feel certain I am capable of fixing it as well. I also wanted it to go on record that this seems to be a VERY common issue which should NOT happen on a notebook this quickly. Neither of us carry these computers around with us on a daily or even a weekly basis. It seems quite ridiculous to be dealing with this issue already. I had a DELL computer for 7 years. I had to replace the entire power cord, but the connection port was never an issue. This seems put together much cheaper. I feel HP should replace the port at no charge, just don't expect that will happen. Any advise to where I can get the necessary replacement part at a reasonable price would be greatly appreciated. I don't particularly trust an original HP replacement part since the original ones don't seem to be made well in first place. Thanks so much!
