The scanning arm of my all-in-one is having trouble homing. Everytime I turn it on, it makes terrible grinding noises, like it's trying to escape the machine, and just continues to make those noises the whole time the machine is powered on. When I attempt to scan, the arm makes noises but never moves into the view of the scanner glass. I've followed the instructions in this forum to do a "hard reset", which didn't help. Of course, the warranty just expired 2 weeks ago. After much searching here and in other forums, it looks like I might need to clean the inside of the scanner. I've found specific instructions on how to disassemble many HP all-in-one models here and on other forums, but I'm having a terrible time with my particular model. Can anyone provide specific instructions for this or a similar model?
