I entered a slightly incorrect web address, one very similar to the HP123 setup
I keyed in: without one of the dots and without prompting, a "tech" was soon on line to "help"me. Very slick site. Your stupid rules will not allow dot and what follows.
I stupidly allowed access to my computer and the "tech" proceeded to download the printer software an to "open" it on my computer. He was doing it correctly until --
Then as the install seemed to be nearly complete he told me some technical gibberish that someone had taken over my network something or another and they couid fix it for $99.99. I said no, coiuld the printer be installed without the "fix." No, he says. I said this looks like a scam to me and the screens all disappeared.
I took a screen shot of the site, but can 't figure out how to send it to you. You can see it at my mistyped link above.
I did finally get my printer installed on my own.
Scary. Miss one period and fall into a scam.
