Product: hp deskjet 2600 series

i have had my new printer about 4 months and have never needed to scan anything.  i changed my ink cartreges today and it printed out a page to scan to re-align my printer.  i don't know how to make my printer scan.  i know i lay the page on the glass window but i don't know what buttons to push to make it scan.
