I have been trying to get this thing to work for nearly six hours now and my frustration level is about at maximum. I have repeatedly tried to install software for this printer but the installation invariably fails. I get a cryptic message about "error code 1603. I wasted two hours with the "wizard" which seemed to be in an endless loop of trying to identify my printer. It always found it but I still cannot use it to print anything.
I am using a fairly new Acer Aspire E5-15 laptop and am connected to my printer by wi-fi. The printer's display shows it as being connected to my home network and even lists an IP address for the printer.
I have downloaded and installed a number of HP support assistant programs, none of which has helped in any way.
My operating system is Win 10 64-bit, and my system was "reset" yesterday and updated yesterday (5 hours ago).
It is very unhelpful that my printer takes itself offline every 15 to 20 minutes and I must press the power switch to get it to connect again.
