Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi I have had the printer for a few months but used it for printing only (I'm not sure about the operating system being 32-bit).  Finally set up for scanning last night (basically just needed to click on 'enable' ) and was able to scan using the document feed with no problem at all.  On the screen I clicked 'scan > computer > scan to pc > pdf > start' and it went straight to my laptop and into a pdf.  Did that several times, scanning 14 or so pages at a time.

This morning, tried again, but the document feed won't pick up.  The screen now does not have the 'pdf' option, it goes straight from 'scan to pc' to 'start scan' and when i choose that, it says 'scanning' but does not take the documents from the feeder.  Then it says the scan is complete and tells me to look at my pc, but all that's there is a blank page - it's scanned from the flat bed.

I need to scan multiple page documents today and doing each page one at a time on the flat bed is really not an option I want to think about!

I've tried taking out the power cord and waiting 30 seconds but that didn't work.

I'm not tech-savvy so would be grateful for suggestions in a simple format if possible.

Many thanks
