I bought this printer about a week ago, and it connects to print off documents just fine. The alignment test went by without any problems, but I can't scan anything from the device onto my computer.
Here are some things I have tried:
-Running the installation process over again (twice)
-Unplugging, then plugging in / restarting the device
-Downloading the HP Scan program from Microsoft Office
I've gone through all the settings and everything seems to be normal and turned on.
When I try to get into the HP Printer Assistant app, the only thing I've got under the 'Scan tab' is 'Scan a Document or Photo'. There are no other options.
I don't have a smartphone, and I'm connected locally. When I try to connect to a wireless network, it kept telling me that the network can't be found, and eventually I got tired of it and connected locally. And, yes, the cord connecting the HP printer to the computer is plugged in on both ends.
Did I install this wrong? It's kind of important that I get this figured out, I need to be able to scan for my job.
