HP Recommended

My printer will not print. Well, when I went thru all of the recommended fixes, it asked me to print a page showing the IP address and such. My printer is connected to wi fi, I have turned it on and off and my computer also.  But when I try to print something from my word program or anything else where I give it a command to print, my computer pops up that my Printer needs my intervention.  I cannot find anyplace where it says exactly what that intervention might be.  My printer ran out of ink and I called Instant Ink, cause they are suppose to send me ink.  They forgot too.  The guy on the phone had me take the black ink cartridge out and print only from the color cartridge until I receive the black ink. I do not think, however, that this is the issue. If anyone can help me figure out what needing my intervention means, i would greatly appreciate a response.
