Hi, even before installing the hp envy 7855 software I think I should be able to ping the hp envy 7855 from a networked computer, windows 10 (64), windows XP's. But, no, it fails. All computers and hp envy 7855 are connected to a linksys switch EZXS16W (no wireless capabilities, plain unmanaged switch). The HP envy has a static ip address -192.168.100.100- just invented inside the private ip range, although the linksys is not facing the internet for now. All I did is provide the printer the static ip address, the mask 255.255.255.0 and no gateway. I have turned off and on the printer, the linksys switch, many times, but no recognition by a ping command. Any computer I ping with static ip addresses is OK, the printer not existent. Help ! Thanks.
