Product: Officejet pro 6830
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an error message "There is a problem with printhead."  I read all previous posts on this problem and I am out of luck because while HP replaces it within warranty, mine is out of warranty.   This basically punishes infrequent users of this printer because as an infrequent user, the problem won't show up until the product is out of warranty.  

 

I would like to know what to do other than buying a Canon.  I hate to let yet another HP printer hardware go to wasteland.  My previous printer was an HP as well so I have two non-functioning HP printer at home now.  

 

How do I make the printers useful again?  Is there a way that this one can be rescued?  Again, I don't want Wallie to have it.
