My OfficeJet Pro 9025 printer is about 3 months old. It is plugged in directly to the wall outlet. Routinely while trying to print any kind of document, Word or Excel, the printer icon pops up and indicates "Printing - Looking for Printer". the only way this is resolved is to shut down the printer and reboot it, but that does not work since the power switch does not turn off the printer and I have to resort to unplugging the printer from the wall outlet. This happens with about every 10 print jobs.  I use Office 2011 for Mac and have Mac OS Mojave.
