Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a used hp 650 core i5 laptop only to find out that it was an upgraded laptop(I.e an old generation laptop whose processor was upgraded). So I want to know how to identify a genuine core i3, i5, i7 laptop. By genuine i mean it should have all functionality of new generation laptops, not just the processing speed of core series laptops.
