I recently bought an hp omen obelisk 875-1040st. It uses a proprietary mobo z390 (called shire). The issue is that it supposedly only supports ram upto 2666 mhz. I have read that some people who have bought ram with speeds over 3000 mhz have had them default to the JEDEC standard of 2133.
It seems that xmp is not an available option in the bios/uefi. And intel xtu doesn't install due to signature validation issues. Is there any way to get ram to anything over 2666?
If I were to solely buy ram with 2666, should I focus on getting the best CAS latency possible (I think Ballastix sells 16 gb sticks with C16 whereas the generic crucial/hyperx is C19)
