Product: HP Envy Photo 7858
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have retired my old HP Office jet and an Epson printer - both removed from Windows 10 via control panel.  I have tried to install a newly purchased HP Envy Photo 7800 Series (7858).  HP Smart says its 'Ready' but when you invoke 'Print' or 'Photos' it sends you on and endless search for drivers it apparently can't find; but Scan works. 

 

Windows 10 recognizes it and it prints from documents, but the duplex printing only prints 'flip short edge' despite 'long edge' being selected.  Both my Smart Phone and Chromebook print successfully.   I've seen other posts that say - 'Solved' for a similar problem, but entail involved modifications to registry etc.  The printer should install and print on Windows 10 laptops without heroic  measures.  I'd like to know if there a straight forward method to correct the drivers - (HP Smart doesn't work); alternative is to return printer.
