Hello!

I connect my printer using a USB cable connection because the printer doesn't have a wifi connection. The first time I tried to set it up manually from "My Preferences > Printers & Scanners," and it can read my printer. I know this because next to the printer icon bar on the left, the status shows a green light, and it said "idle". I assume it said idle because it's not a printer or scanning or anything. But please tell me if I'm wrong. Then I tried printing through different apps (Microsoft word, pages, preview, safari, google chrome), all doesn't work. What happened was every time I click "print", the printer queue icon shows on the bottom for a split second, and then it went away. I double-checked on the Print Queue in My Preferences. It's also not there.

The second thing I tried was installing the app "HP Smart" on my MacBook, which is what's recommended by the HP website. I tried that before and after deleting my printer from my "Printers and Scanners" list (I tried both separately). For both attempts, it couldn't read my printer for some reason I don't know.

If someone can help me resolve this problem and suggest what to do, highly appreciated.

Thank you!
