Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

My mulit-function HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP "printer" works fine since installing Windows 11 Home but my scanner does not. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the entire software package several times which eats up a lot of time.  After doing so, I am able to use the scanner successfully one time only.  On subsequent attempts I receive a pop message saying "scanner not found".  

 

If any of you know know how to fix this I would greatly appreciate your perspective.  Thank you.
