My OfficeJet 3830 stopped printing color a few months ago. This is a well-documented problem with many, many reports by users about this same problem on the HP forums. I have tried all the steps outlined in various postings by HP reps -- uninstalling the printer, downloading and updating drivers, adding a new port for the printer, using HP's diagnostic software, etc.
The printer CAN print color--when I run the test page, the printer prints color, but not when I try to print color from applications. Many of the suggestions from the HP reps say to check off 'grayscale' printing, but the driver interfaces do not show that option.
It is clear to me, from the multiple reports of this same problem (and more importantly, follow-up reports saying the the HP reps' suggestions don't work, that this is a problem with HP's driver software. Can you please, please get it fixed. At this point, without being able to print color, we'll have to get a new printer, and it's unlikely to be another HP., seeing how HP still hasn't dealt with this continued and well-documented problem.
