I purchased the laptop in April 2021. I bought this model because of the ability to use as a tablet. I open the laptop two days ago and hear a clicking sound, then find little plastic bits on the left side of the laptop. The hinge broke and now I am afraid to close the laptop because the screen is lifted up on the left lower corner. I expected a laptop in this price range to have better designed hinges. Looks like HP cut corners on quality an used plastic to secure what needs to be a very sturdy part of a convertible laptop. I have recommended Hp computers to my friends and family. Now I don't think you produce the quality I associated with HP products. How do I get this fixed? Did I waste $1,000? The hinge should last longer than 18 months.
