I recently upgraded to Windows 11 and the printer, which had been working perfectly for years with Windows 10, is now unusable with Windows 11.
After upgrading the OS, it only printed B&W, despite the printer's driver's configuration: I found that this is a recurring problem.
As of today, it's not even seen online by the OS and any attempt to reconnect it or re-install the driver failed.
Besides, the Scan Doctor utility is not even completing the diagnostics, the progress bar never reaches the end and it provides no clue as to what is wrong.
Interestingly, the printer works perfectly when used to print from my mobile phone via HP Smart. So the issue is clearly with the Windows 11 driver.
Edited
I restarted the configuration for the nth time from the Printer Setup tool of Windows as recommended by the HP Smart application. I added the printer's name instead of the IP address and set to "Auto Detect" the device type (IPP, TCP etc.)
The printer is now working. Hope this helps
