How do I disable the annoying auto off feature of my Officejet 6978? What’s the point of having a networked printer that you constantly have to walk up to in order to power back on? And yes, the printer is connected via Ethernet and therefore has a constant network connection. According to hp's support and the settings help, as long as the printer is connected to a computer or network, the printer will wake in order to print. That is not true!

BTW, I’m looking for an 'actual' solution, not a bogus work-around such as using a smart outlet to power cycle the printer, etc. I know I’m not the only one frustrated by this nonsense based upon all of the complaints (without resolutions) that I’ve come across on the web.
