I'm looking to upgrade my laptop in the following way

  • CURRENT: 16 GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB)
  • NEW: 32 GB DDR5-???? MHz RAM (2 x 16 GB)

ADDITIONAL CONFIG

  • PROCCESSOR: Intel® Core™ i7-12700H (2.30 GHz base frequency, up to 4.7 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 24 MB L3 cache, 14 cores, 20 threads)
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3060 6 GB GDDR6 Graphics Card - 1 TB PCIe® Gen 4.0 x4 NVMe™ TLC M.2 Solid-State Drive

QUESTIONS.

  1. What memory manufactures are compatible with this system?
  2. Is 32GB the maximum (this seems to be accurate, but looking for confirmation)?
  3. Can I exceed 4800MT/s or is that the maximum, given the specs for the  Intel® Core™ i7-12700H?
  4. Does the HP ENVY 16-inch Laptop PC 16-h0000 (534C7AV) support Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP)?
  5. Based on the support or, or lack thereof, regarding Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP), how does that influence the selection of memory for the upgrade?
