HP Recommended

We just had two brand new HP 910 ink cartridges explode when opening them. Black ink all over the place: hands, clothes, desk, papers, carpet. There are NO instructions that come with the cartridge but we found this HP video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4W-TC3D1e8  which tells us to turn the orange tab counter-clockwise (which we did), at which point the ink exploded. But upon closer inspection, the video actually shows the tab being twisted clockwise!!!

 

These are new cartridges purchased a few days ago, so are they warrantied? At $60 each we are now out $120.00. (And who is going to pay to have the carpets cleaned and the clothes replaced?)
