The printer was idle for a month or so when it ran low on cyan and magenta ink. Bought a new set of ink, only replaced the two that were called out. Now it says the magenta is out, replaced that and now it says the "The original HP ink in one or more of the cartridges has been depleted. If they were sold to new, genuine HP cartridges, they might be counterfeit..."
It's a brand new cartridge, in an HP box from Target. I would just drop the printer in the trash can, but with the new ink cartridges, want to get some return on the investment.
I've tried all of the steps that HP asks you to do, taking out the cartridge and wiping off the contacts, moving the cartridge carriage around, shutting off the unit multiple times. Comes back to the same message every time.
