Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw

I recently updated my network that required the router/modem be replaced.  Before the update my HP printer connected to the original modem's wireless network fine.  The new Hitron CODA-4582U modem is configured the same as the original modem with all devices connect seamlessly, except the HP printer.  This printer cannot connect wireless to the new modem network even though the SSID and password hasn't changed.

I understand the printer can connect to a 2.4G network only so I disabled Band Steering and renamed the SSID for the 5G network while retaining the original SSID name for the 2.4G.  All attempts to connect the printer to the SSID configured for the 2.4G band failed.  Running a Test Report from the printer after a failed connection attempt, I'm getting the following message:

"The WPA authentication method on your HP has been changed from the default setting.  This may cause problems when connecting to your wireless network, if your wireless router is not using the same WPA authentication method."

Note, there is a "MAC address filtering may be enabled on the wireless router" message as well.  I verified MAC address filtering is NOT enabled on the router.

On logging into the modem I see security configuration is as follows:

Security Mode:   WPA-Personal

Authentication Type:     WPA2-PSK

Encryption:     TKIP/AES

Since I also have an Actiontec WCB3000N extender cabled back to the new Hitron modem via Ethernet, for test purposes I attempted to connect the printer to to the extenders wireless 2.4G band with printer connection was successful.  Authentication Type of this Actiontec extender's wireless is configured the same as the modem's wireless as follows:

Communication Mode:   Infrastructure

Authentication Type:     WPA2-PSK

Encryption: (Not shown)

With the printer and my Windows 10 computer connected to the Actiontec extender, I logged into the printer over wireless to view the connection to the extender and verified matching matching security settings on both the modem and extender as follows:

Status: Connected
Wireless: On
Network Name (SSID): Actiontec-4224-2.4G
Communication Mode: Infrastructure
Authentication Type: wpa2-psk
Encryption: tkip+aes
Hardware Address: 84:4b:f5:28:4d:aa
Access Point Hardware Address: a0:a3:e2:e9:1c:2b
Channel: 6
Signal Strength: Excellent

I then again attempted connecting the printer to the new Hitron modem via wireless and tested various security settings, without success.

To summarize the printer cannot connect to the wireless network on my modem while successfully connecting to the wireless network of my extender with security settings configured the same on all devices.

I've exhausted all ideas troubleshooting this printer wireless connection so any suggestions would be helpful?   Thank you.
