I have owned HP ENVY 7800 since June 2019 and had been a subscriber of Instant Ink up until 4-17-2024. I cancelled the subscription and began purchasing ink directly from HP.com - the HP ENVY hasn’t been the most reliable printer I’ve ever owned and at this point, it will print copies for me, but it WILL NOT EVERRRRRR print any photos for me anymore. Not 4x6, not 5x7, not 8x10 sizes. 80-90% of my printing is just photographs!! So, I’m genuinely verrrrry frustrated & disappointed by now.

If I allow myself to think like a paranoid freak, I would wonder if I’m being “punished” for cancelling my Instant Ink subscription 5 months ago, but I refuse to “go there”…however,  the printer has been saying that I HAVE TO USE HP PHOTO PAPER!! It has tried to coerce me to use HP photo paper for the past 5 years, but I’ve always been able to print on Kodak, Epson annnnnd HP photo paper. So, my question is: In your personal experience & in your opinion, shall I cut my losses now and say “Bah-Bye!” to HP altogether and search for a better printer made by a more reliable brand?
