I just replaced an old HP printer with a 6555e and it has a constant very very quiet high pitched sound. When it goes to sleep, the quiet sound becomes more of a rhythmic beep. You have to put your ear right up to the printer to confirm that's where it's coming from. It's working fine, this just seems to be the sound it makes. Per discussions about other printers I checked and it is not in Quiet mode, but putting it in quiet mode makes no difference. It goes away when it's off, but then I can't print when I'm away from my desk.
Do they all do this or should I try exchanging it? Although it's a quiet sound it's driving me insane, I feel like my ears will start bleeding.
