EliteBook x360 1030 G2

We recently purchased 4 of these new models, and all four are experiencing the same issue.  Under normal use the mouse will freeze in place.  It sits there for a period of about 5 to 10 seconds before it becomese usable again.  In some instances the mouse does not become usable again the entire PC freezes, and the system has to be hard-reset to get it running again.  It doesn't appear to be happening when any pariticlar software or service is running, it's very random so far.  I have updated drivers, and ensured the correct (recommended) drivers are all installed.  Using an external USB mouse does the same thing.  Any insight on this issue would be appreciated.

I found the answer on another semi-related thread.  It did the trick.  The driver provided by Win Update was a version released in March of 2017.  Deleting the curret, and downloading/installing the latest from Intel was the answer.  I'll continue testing, but the issue has yet to present itself again on the three x360s worked on.

I had the same issue on my new (2017) HP Elitebook x360 1030 G2. After about a dozen attempts to solve it myself I have finally found a solution that solved it for me:

I went into the device/hardware manager and expanded the 'display adapter' category. Mine is listed as an 'Intel HD Graphics 620' I right clicked on the item and uninstalled it. The display will flicker and switch to a lower resolution as windows takes over with a generic graphics control. I did this prior to uninstalling, but jump out to intel's website and grab the latest driver package for your version of Win 10.

But find the page for the graphics card you have.

After downloading the package and installing the new driver, probably did a reboot, all was well. Issue seemed to be with the intel driver windows update was serving that would install by default.

Hope this helps or solves it for some. Again I tried everything prior, mouse settings, touchpad drivers, even a reinstall of Windows.

Dear HP Support community, I have the same HP laptop model but unfortunately the updated display drivers does resolve the issue. The mouse still lags and behaves strange - especially during startup and whenever the system load (or graphics load?) goes up. According to the Softpaq Download Manager the latest drivers for most devices seem to be installed. This is a very frustrating issue given the otherwise neat device. Anyone ideas what to do?
