@Papatado1,

When you restart your PC, make sure you do: tap-tap-tap-tap-etc. in fairly rapid succession on the F10 key until the boot window shows up, or if a screen pops up that asks to save changes yes/no/cancel, where you have to select cancel.

Kind Regards,

NonSequitur777 hello I'm curious if you think having an earlier bias version might have any effect I see you have the earlier bios date

In this step when I get to the troubleshooter section I open a link towards the bottom of the page because I do not see Hardware and Devices under the Update & Security section. When I open the additional link it shows some additional troubleshooters but no Hardware and Devices. Not shure how to proceed. Also I was able to get inside of the Bios now for some reason it gave me access today. I changed the settings I had to the ones you had but some of the settings I wasnt sure of if they were not in your images. I did notice that the bios version in your machine is the previous version. I left mine the way it was. Do you think I need to role it back ? I was not able to run the troubleshooter and that seems like it would be important.. What do you think to do?

Your statement is below regarding the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter..

Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter:

1.) Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
2.) When the Settings app opens, navigate to the: Update & Security section.
3.) Navigate to the Troubleshoot section in the left pane. In the right pane, go to Hardware and Devices and click: Run the troubleshooter.
When the Troubleshoot window opens, follow the instructions on the screen to complete it. After the troubleshooting is finished, let's see if it resolved anything.

I see why I was not able to locate the trouble shooter for Hardware and devices Here is an image showing I have some problem. I did not want to have One Drive on my computer at one point and maybe this is the result of asking for help to remove it. I am not sure what to do now but I will contact microsoft to see if they can fix the hardware n device issue. I have a built in GPU and am wondering if that is causing a problem with the install of the new GPU??.

@Papatado1,

No, the integrated graphics has nothing to do with your issue.

Let's do the following first:

1.) Type cmd in your Windows search bar.

2.) Right-click on the Command Prompt App, and choose Run as administrator, then click on Yes.

3.) Type or copy/paste: sfc /scannow (including the space between the c and slash symbol) and hit Enter. This may take a while.  Let me know what it says after completion.

4.) Type or copy/paste: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth (include the spaces as shown) and hit Enter. Let me know what it says after completion.

5.) Type exit and Enter.

In response to your question, quote: "NonSequitur777 hello I'm curious if you think having an earlier bias version might have any effect I see you have the earlier bios date".

Yea, thanks for the reminder: I do have version 02.39, and when I feel like it, I will upgrade to version 02.43. But again, that doesn't really matter.  As a matter of fact, you should in principle always have the most recent BIOS/driver versions.

NonSequitur777 ,

I was able to get it installed last night after resetting/rebuilding windows. Your request to have me run the troubleshooter was not available to me because I had an error so I reached out to windows and they reinstalled some things and it is working this morning after doing the updates overnight. As of right now my GPu is working but not sure if it will keep working or not. Thanks so much again for your help!! You truly are the best!

NonSequitur777 I wanted to thank you again for all of your help. Also thought I should add this additional piece of information so anyone who might be struggling to add an external Graphics card to an HP Elitedesk 800 G3 sff with a processor type that includes a built-in GPU like the (I7- 7700) would remember to go to the Bios/Advanced setting and change the video setting option to have the new external Video Card be in the 1st position instead of the 2nd position. That setting seemed to cure my final problem of the driver not installing as it should. Works well.. MSI GEOFORCE RTX 3050. Take care NonSequitur777 you truly are a hero!

Take care
