Hello Community,
I bought a used DesignJet 500 and gave my Designjet 750C away. The DJ500 works very good and fast, but I have problems with colors. He won't print blue colors correct. All other colors seems to be OK.
My company logo is in RGB 0:82:105 and the printer only prints it in grey.
I tried a lot of things, but I can not solve the problem!
- printed from OSX with latest driver
- printed from Win7 with 2 different computers with latest driver
- settings on the DJ500
- with RGB, without RBG
- calibrated the colors
- cleaned the printheads
- calibrated the printheads
- trouble shooting through the printer system
- differnet settings in the software on Mac and PC
All cartridges are new. The printheads are older ones und since 2 month out of guarantee.
The DesgnJet is in my network and gets the print jobs over it.
The Firmware is A.04.02
Has any one an idea what to do.
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Alex

Hello Community,
I've now messed around with settings and drivers. I tested it on Windows 7, XP und OSX.
Near all colors are wrong with the original driver. Yellow has a green cast, blue has a purple cast. My company color (0,82,105) is printed in grey.
The only solution at the moment is to use the driver from the HP DesignJet 750C+. Here I get the best colors.
Does nobody else has this probelm?
Could somebody with a DesignJet 500 try to print the color RGB: 0,82,105 (RAL 5001) and tell me whats happen? It should be a dark blue color.
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Alex

If you need accurate colors you shoud use some RIP instead of printedr driver.
Right now only thing you can do is when loading media, go to bottom of menu to Extended... Select it an than chose media type (this changes internal colour pallet). Maybe this can get you closer to your expected results.
