F/W VERSION: 4.1.0 rev. i (current)
After upgrading our phones' firmware (previously 3.2.4), we have some "major changes" on the caller ID that people are complaining about.
1. Label "404 Karalee" gets truncated and displayed as "...4 Karalee" - She doesn't like that. Is there a way to make it show more characters?
2. Our caller ID now displays this on incoming calls that are made to the main line:
CTEL-8665551234(8665551234@IPADDRESS)
and the screen scrolls to accomodate the long name. How can we get it to display just the phone number? Direct lines do not include the CTEL prefix, but appear identical otherwise. (We just want "CTEL-8665551234")> I tried to use the feature enabled = 0 thing and had no luck...maybe I'm doing it wrong?
I think that's it for now, sorry for being needy 🙂 I'd love to learn more about this stuff but I don't have the time to read everything right now =(

Hello ConferTelAlex,
When downloading the UCS 4.1.0 Software the disclaimer states:
3) UC software 4.1.0 Rev I is for use only with Microsoft® Lync® Server using a single line registration. UC software 4.1.0 Rev I supports the following Polycom devices: SoundPoint IP 321, 331, 335, 450, 550, 560, 650, SoundStation lP 5000, Duo phones.
I doubt you are using LYNC so therefore please install UCS 4.0.4 instead.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

That explains a whole lot...I only read through 1 and 2.
I do appreciate your help with this, and hopefully I'll be able to get a much better understanding of the system through reading the support documentation now that I'm on the correct version.
I will be looking through everything again and will post back here if I have any questions.
