I am attempting to use a Plantronics Savi W740-M headset with a VVX 500 running 5.0.1.4068 to use the Plantronics APP-51 EHS Adapater.
I can't get the VVX 500 to accept the change in the hookswitch mode. When I do select the Plantronics mode in the preferences screen, I am immediately prompted to reboot the phone. After the phone boots though the hookswitch setting has not chagned.

Hello cfl,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
is this using SIP or a LYNC profile?
I briefly tested this and after the reboot the unit selects the Plantronics option.
You may want to check your Log settings and set Headset to Event 2 and check your log afterwards.
For further support please contact your Polycom reseller.

Hello siliconvalley1,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
The above post covers Plantronics headsets.
Is your headset a Plantronics headset ?
If yes why would you select the Jabra option for this?
In addition it is always useful to include the currently used software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
Could you also provide some information on what Polycom phone model you are using?
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
Best Regards

I'm having the same problem.
I can't set VVX 500 to Plantronics EHS Hookswitch mode. Did anyone figure this out?
Phone Model VVX 500
Part Number 3111-44500-001 Rev:A
UC Software Version 5.2.0.8330
Updater Version 5.4.0.8782

I figured this out. I needed to chmod 777 on the following directory /tftpboot/overrides
I'm auto provisioning the phone with freepbx and the phone wants to upload config changes before reboot so they could be downloaded after reboot. (that's what I assume based on behavior I experienced)

I still can't get mine to work. Would you be able to give more detail please?

So I used this snipit:
up.analogHeadsetOption
0, 1, 2, 3
The headset mode for the phone’s analog headset jack. 0 - no EHS-compatible headset is attached. 1 - a Jabra EHS-compatible headset is attached. 2 - a Plantronics EHS-compatible headset is attached. 3 - a Sennheiser EHS-compatible headset is attached.
And put this into the provisioner: For Jabra EHS.
up.analogHeadsetOption="1"
So, now it sticks, but for some reason it does not work.
I tried the"select setting and reboot with no network" and that does work.
What am I missing?

Hello Agoss,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Read First"

It would also be useful to state what phone and what kind of server you are using. Also where did you make the change in the cfg file.
