Here is the product information on the Polycom VVX350 Deskphone:

Polycom VVX 350

S/N  64167F6B941B  Rev. E

Build Vers.  3111-48830-001 Rev. A

SIP Version 6.4.3.5156  (This appears to be the most current software version)

P/N 3150-11530-648

Poly DSP VinoBCM11188

9.4.8.1008

3150-11580-984

We are not able to change the VLAN number from its default value of 40, because in Settings>Advanced>Password>(Default Passwd Entered), the only two options presented are:

1. Change User Password

2. Reboot Phone

The Administrator Settings option that I understand is supposed to also be present is not.  There does not appear to be any other workaround to get to administrator settings.

Any information would be helpful

This application is on an SMB network that uses VLAN tagging and IP address reservations, and the phone when connected to the network will not obtain an IP address through DHCP and DHCP is enabled on the deskset.  The network settings are correct and other devices will obtain DHCP from the same switch port when connected.

Hello @CF-CECNA, Welcome to the HP Poly Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I request you to please check and confirm the software version of the Polycom VVX350 and update it to the latest as mentioned below in the image.

However, for the VLAN, I request you to check the Web UI.

Please go to the Admin Settings.

Menu >> Advanced <enter Admin Password> >> Administrator Settings >> Network Configuration >> Ethernet.

If you are entering the USER password, the options will be limited.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance. If you find the information provided useful or it solves your problems, help other users find the solution more easily by giving Kudos/Thumbs Up and marking my post as an Accepted Solution.

Regards,

Meghana

Hello @CF-CECNA ,

Welcome to the HP Poly community.

If you do not see admin options, you are using the User and not the Admin Password.

In regard to VLAN, our extensive VoIP FAQ has this post:

Jul 10, 2013 Question: How can I use VLANs with Poly phones?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Other items around passwords and much more can be found in the FAQ or via a community search.

If no other volunteers reply, I suggest you contact our Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.

Hi Meghana and Stephen,

Thank you for your replies.  I had suspected a password issue.  Nowhere in any of the documentation or online posting do I see a means of setting up an administrator password.  Could you please explain how to do that.

Thanks,

CF-CEC

Hi Steffan,

Thanks for the quick response.  The current default passwords on both of our VVX350 Phones is "1-2-3."

Also, I am having trouble registering these two phones among my HP product on the site.  The Polycom serial numbers are rejected when I try to register them at the "Add-a Device" section in my account management menu.

Thanks,

CF-CECNA

Hello @CF-CECNA ,

So far, we have no idea how the Phone was provisioned, aka whose services are you using, and why can they not change the VLAN? 123 is the default user password, and that user will not have access to these menus or the options via the Web Interface.

If you do not know and you have done this yourself, factory restore the phone and make a note of the Admin password, which you will have to set when powering up.

Details are again in the FAQ as outlined before.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen,

I have tried communicating with you as effectively as possible, but you keep flashing me with multiple support URLs that just make the matter more and more confusing.  I finally just called in and opened support ticket case # 5146524772, and after a few hours received clearly documented instructions on completing a factory reset on the phones, so that they would shed any previous provisioning and be ready to receive an IP address and VLAN assignment through DHCP.

So much easier, than spending hours pouring over confusing URLs your way.

Please consider providing clear instructions in the future.  I am sure you could build a library of clear instructions on various technical topics on your own and simply paste them in your responses to users who are trying to resolve technical problems.

Thanks anyway,

Hello @CF-CECNA ,

This is a peer to peer support community and we state:

  • A place where you can find great tips and helpful solutions from other HP product users.

Volunteers have created the FAQ's to help other users that find the community.

The VoIP FAQ has all the answers and using keywords or the search functionality will find everything.

In my role as a volunteer (in my own personal time, as stated in my signature) I provided you with the details or direct links.

Asking from one user to another to utilize the search is an expected way within the realm of a peer to peer support community.

Best Regards
