I've got a VX400 phone and am wondering whether it's possible to include a contact's extension in the phone number? I'd like to be able to enter it, with some sort of automated entry, such as dial phone number, then pause, then '1', then the extension, so that when I dial the contact, I don't have to manually dial the person's extension as well (which I have to look up). This is for an external contact, not an internal contact or internal extension.
If that's not possible, I'd be interested in hearing how people are using the system to dial numbers when the contact has an extension.
Thanks.

Hello @MSchumacher,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .
In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
To answer your question on a VVX its currently not possible to enter a pause.
You can create a softkey as described here:
Nov 25, 2011 Question: How can I change the functionality of a softkey button / use EFK?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
An EFK can have a pause.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
