UPDATE
Brandon Guy, a Poly Employee, shares a tool >here< which allows the remote control of a Poly VVX, CCX, Edge E and Poly Trio:
Note:The above tool can be used to interact with a Poly phone whilst it is in openSIP or Skype for Business mode. If the phone is running another Provider UI like Zoom or Microsoft Teams it can only display what is on the screen but no interaction is fed back to the 3rd Party application!
Since VVX UC Software 6.4.0 or later the Web Interface can be used to capture the screen as explained >here<
Since VVX UC Software 5.8.0 the combination of the following parameters can be used to avoid the above:
<test up.screenCapture.value="1"
up.screenCapture.enabled="1" />
Since Trio UC Software 5.8.0 the combination of the following parameters can be used to avoid the above:
<test up.screenCapture.allowed="1" up.screenCapture.enabled="1" />
A combination of both of the above is attached and can be downloaded, unzipped and imported via the Web UI Utilities > Import & Export Configuration > Import Configuration
Prior to UC 5.8.0 or older:
Since SIP 3.2.0 you can capture the current screen on a SoundPoint IP, SoundStation IP, VVX ,Trio or a Visual+ phone through the web interface to the phone.
In order to utilize this facility the Parameter :
<up up.screenCapture.enabled="1" />
above needs to be added to the Configuration via the Provisioning Server.
Username: Polycom
Password: 456
This does not automatically allow a User to capture the Screen, the functionality needs to be activated by the Phone User.
Note: You need to re-enable the Screen Capture feature after every phone restart or reboot (repeat below)!
Press the Menu Key
Select Settings
Select Basic
Select Preferences
Scroll down and select Screen Capture
Enable or disable the Functionality.
Accessing the Screen Capture:
As the browser address, enter
http://<Phone IP Address>/captureScreen
UC Software versions after 5.1.x made changes to the Web Interface so you may need to enable this first as shown => here <= or use HTTPS
https://<Phone IP Address>/captureScreen
The current screen that is shown on the phone is shown in the browser window. The image can be saved as a file.
Example of a VVX 600 with one color expansion module attached:
If the function was activated via the configuration but has not been enabled via the GUI the following will appear:
The document requested was not found on this server
You can also capture an individual expansion module layer:
http://<phone-ip-address>/captureScreen/em/<EM page number>
The range for EM page numbers is 1 to 9
Please consult your Admin Guide matching your SIP / UC Software Version.
NOTE: Only later UCS versions support this for VVX Expansion Modules!
NOTE: Prior to UCS 5.2.0 importing the configuration file on a VVX requires a manual reboot !
UPDATE:
Since UC Software 5.5.2 or later you can also capture the screen of a Visual+
Simply browse to the IP of the Visual+
http://<Phone IP Address>/captureScreen
UPDATE:
Since UC Software 5.7.1 Rev AB or later you can also capture the screen of a connected GroupSeries
Simply browse to the IP of the GroupSeries
http://<GS_IP>/currentscreen.cgi
Screencapture
