How do you change the settings on the VVX 501 so that the default idle screen is the screen that contains the icons (e.g., New Call, Redial, Message, Directories, Calendar, DND, Forward, Settings) instead of the screen that shows the line extensions? In other words, I don't want the screen that shows the extensions showing up all of the time (I only have one extension, so it's pointless to have that screen be the default screen).

Hello @lancetb,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .
In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
Utilizing the community search and the word idle finds the solution in the first result => here <=
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
Best Regards
Steffen Baier

PS. I've searched the Internet, Polycom's support FAQs, the support manual and the community forum, but haven't been able to find a solution for this. I came across something in the manual (I believe it was the manual, I've looked a lot of places so can't remember for sure) that said the default idle screen can be changed by the administrator, but no other details were provided.
