Hello @robblack26,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
to my personal knowledge End Customers are unable to do this but as the cost of the device is so low simply purchase the VVX 150 in the ObiHai edition

Hello @robblack26,
again there are no official instructions and Polycom cannot officially support this kind of conversion therefore:
DISCLAIMER:
Following these below instructions are at your own risk and Polycom cannot be held responsible if you break your handset!
- Download a "normal" Polycom UC Split Software 5.8.1 and unzip into a Directory
- Setup a Provisioning Server
Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
and point the server at the downloaded Software. - Download a ObiHai Edition Software. Example => here <= and place into the folder with the originally downloaded UC Software 5.8.1 overwriting the 3111-48810-001.sip.ld
- Point the Phone to the provisioning Server so it can download the 000000000000.cfg and then via this the 3111-48810-001.sip.ld
Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the relevance of the 000000000000.cfg or <mac>.cfg?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
I assume to revert the process simply use the 3111-48810-001.sip.ld that would come with a UC Software but again as this is neither officially supported or documented you are at your own risk.

Hello,
I have a customer with a Polycom VVX250 that is currently on 6.3.1 firmware from ObiTalk. We are trying to flash it back to Polycom UC 5.5.3. Would it be as simple as following the reverse directions?
I have tried setting the autoprovision URL to <removed by a moderator> to see if it would download that firmware with no luck.

Hello @hayden.whitfield ,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.
Oct 7, 2011 Question: What SIP or UC Software Version or Updater / BootROM Version is supported by my Phone?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
The above explains that the VVX x50 range only was introduced with UC Software 5.8.0 or later so any software you try must be 5.8.0 or later.
Again this is not an official supported method and proceeding with this is at your own risk.

Hello all,
Easier Steps:
- Power-up the phone and have it connected to the internet.
- Determine the IP Address of your phone by hold-pressing 1, 4 and 7 simultaneously, or go to Settings > Status > Network > TCP/IP Parameters by pressing the Menu Button.
- Use the IP address to access the local webpage of the phone. (Default password is 456 and use HTTPS).
- Head over to Utilities > Software Upgrade page and select Custom Server for the Server Type option.
- Paste your upgrade server URL on the “Custom server address” field. For OBiTALK-hosted firmware files, please refer to the URLs below:
Version 6.3.1.0: https://www.obitalk.com/VVX-OE/6.3.1.0/release.xml
Version 6.3.1.1: https://www.obitalk.com/VVX-OE/6.3.1.1/release.xml - Click “Check for Updates.” and Click on Install
Note: Disregard the version check

Sorry for the Bump.
This above process works, HOWEVER!! The default passwords do not work.
Someone was nice enough to put how to do the factory reset without the Admin password and I have performed that as well. But it is not set to admin admin like the documentation states.
Cannot get in using user user.
admin

admin

So yes, I have the 6.3.1.0 version installed on the phone, but it might as well be bricked.
Anyone know what the default password is from this build. Is it locked because you have to get a license or something?
Thanks in advance for any ideas or assistance,
Goose
