I'm in the process of configuring the Corporate Directory in my office.
We use Active Directory and the basics of the LDAP are all working as expected. Here's the configuration that I'm using:
<sip> <directory> <dirLocal dir.local.volatile.2meg="0" dir.local.nonVolatile.maxSize.2meg="20" dir.local.volatile.4meg="0" dir.local.nonVolatile.maxSize.4meg="50" dir.local.volatile.8meg="0" dir.local.nonVolatile.maxSize.8meg="100" dir.local.volatile.maxSize="200" dir.local.readonly="" dir.search.field=""/> <dirCorp dir.corp.address="######" dir.corp.port="389" dir.corp.transport="tcp" dir.corp.baseDN="OU=TDS,OU=Accounts,DC=######" dir.corp.scope="sub" dir.corp.filterPrefix="(objectclass=person)(!(objectclass=computer))(!(userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2))(telephoneNumber=*)" dir.corp.user="###" dir.corp.password="######" dir.corp.pageSize="32" dir.corp.cacheSize="128" dir.corp.leg.pageSize="8" dir.corp.leg.cacheSize="32" dir.corp.autoQuerySubmitTimeout="0" dir.corp.viewPersistence="1" dir.corp.leg.viewPersistence="1" dir.corp.autoSubmitTimeout="1"> <attr1 dir.corp.attribute.1.name="sn" dir.corp.attribute.1.label="Last Name" dir.corp.attribute.1.type="last_name" dir.corp.attribute.1.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.1.sticky="" /> <attr2 dir.corp.attribute.2.name="givenName" dir.corp.attribute.2.label="First Name" dir.corp.attribute.2.type="first_name" dir.corp.attribute.2.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.2.sticky="" dir.corp.attribute.2.searchable="0" /> <attr3 dir.corp.attribute.3.name="title" dir.corp.attribute.3.label="Title" dir.corp.attribute.3.type="other" dir.corp.attribute.3.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.3.sticky="" dir.corp.attribute.3.searchable="0" /> <attr4 dir.corp.attribute.4.name="mobile" dir.corp.attribute.4.label="Cell Phone" dir.corp.attribute.4.type="other" dir.corp.attribute.4.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.4.sticky="" dir.corp.attribute.4.searchable="0" /> <attr5 dir.corp.attribute.5.name="homePhone" dir.corp.attribute.5.label="Home Phone" dir.corp.attribute.5.type="other" dir.corp.attribute.5.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.5.sticky="" dir.corp.attribute.5.searchable="0" /> <attr6 dir.corp.attribute.6.name="mail" dir.corp.attribute.6.label="Email Address" dir.corp.attribute.6.type="other" dir.corp.attribute.6.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.6.sticky="" dir.corp.attribute.6.searchable="0" /> <attr7 dir.corp.attribute.7.name="telephoneNumber" dir.corp.attribute.7.label="Phone Number" dir.corp.attribute.7.type="phone_number" dir.corp.attribute.7.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.7.sticky="" dir.corp.attribute.7.searchable="0" /> <backGroundSync dir.corp.backGroundSync="1" dir.corp.backGroundSync.period="3600" /> <vlv dir.corp.vlv.allow="0" dir.corp.vlv.sortOrder="" /> </dirCorp> </directory> </sip>
I'm able to search, find the firstname/lastname/email/home phone/cell phone, but I'm unable to get the "telephoneNumber" to show up. We use this field for the Extension. Moreover, it appears that only one "phone_number" can be assigned in the configuration, so you can not dial more than one number for the user from the results.
We're on 3.1.3 and 3.2.3 on some phones.
Anyone have experience that can help me out here?

Hello tdsops,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
The two software versions you mentioned are no longer supported and you should test SIP 3.1.8 or 3.2.7 respectively.
Testing this briefly with a newer phone (what phones are you using? ) it easily display's two separate numbers:
You need to ensure that the dir.corp.attribute.X.name name actually matches your LDAP field.
The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Jan 30, 2012 Question: Can I use a central Phone book or is LDAP / Corporate Directory supported?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
Above explains this and also link's to a troubleshooting guide.
