We have a Polycom VVX450 deskphone that we are struggling with transferring calls.  We used to be able to use the transfer soft key that was available during a call, but since a firmware upgrade, this option is no longer available.
 
If we use the physical transfer key, this only brings up park options; if we press and hold the physical transfer key, this will allow us to transfer the call.
 
We have contacted our telecoms provider, who have been unable to resolve this issue and say it's just how the phones are now after the upgrade.  They have also suggested workarounds to be able to transfer the calls.
 
Does anyone know if this is the case or if there is any way to bring the transfer softkeys back or update the physical transfer button to transfer instead of park?

Welcome to the HP community.

 

Unfortunately, your post does not contain the currently used Software version for the HP Poly product you use. 

 

This is important especially in the future when someone finds this post in days, months, or years to come.

 

Please do not simply edit the original post but reply with the versions.

Also who is the provider and why do they not offer to downgrade the phone to the version you had this working with?

Here are a couple of numbers from the phone; I hope they are helpful:

Assembly: 3111-48840-021 Rev A

Version: 6.4.4.3219

If you need any others let me know and I will add them to my reply.

 

Our supplier is ICE Telecoms. They have been looking into this for a short while now and been unable to find a solution.  I am not sure why they cannot rollback the upgrade.  They are currently looking to raise this question/issue with support; I am trying to seek an answer/advice/support so I may be able to assist them.

Are you able to log into the web interface of the phone? Navigating in a browser to https://<ipaddress>

 

You could always try downgrading the firmware to see if that is legit... I find that hard to believe, I only have Edges and V11s near me unfortunately.

I will look around for a 350 and 450 and see if I can replicate that.

I found a VVX 450 but under --> Utilities --> Software Upgrade and I dont see that firmware version listed.

We are running 6.4.3.5059 and it works just fine... trying to give you a hand , I know how frustrating it can be.

 

Let us know if you have the option to create your own auto provisioning files and I know I can help you out.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this for me.  I have tried accessing the web portal but it doesn't seem to work - possibly as our phone provider has restricted our access.

 

So just to confirm, you have a VVX 450 running firmware 6.4.3.5059 and you have the transfer keys and options working fine?  If so, I will ask our provider to downgrade the firmware.
