Hello spyder13337,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Are you planning to purchase a Polycom phone and an expansion module or do you have existing phones?
If existing what Software Version and Model are these and what kind of SIP switch are you using?
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello spyder13337,
Using a BroadSoft server will as an example allow you to long press and hold the BLF / Busy Lamp Field:
It does not matter if they are assigned to the main phone or the expansion module.
This feature depends what kind of information about the call the server sends to the phone so not knowing what server you are utilizing it is hard to answer you.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
