What’s New in This Release

  • Enhancements to Webex Calling - CPE

  • Changes to SIP Subscription 503 response handling during failover

  • Minimum TLS version now defaults to TLS 1.2

  • Reboot the phone at a scheduled time

  • Mount USB mass storage devices

  • Improved troubleshooting for unintended reboots

Enhancements to Webex Calling - CPE

This release enhances the ability to support call park extension (CPE) when you set up accounts with Webex Calling and enables the Webex Calling call park service to support parking locations that have an extension but don’t have an associated BroadWorks user.

When you set up the Webex Calling user account with CPE feature support, the attendant.uri parameter configures both CPE and BLF on the phone's local interface. Users can monitor parked call status against dedicated CPE lines and press the CPE lines to park and pick up the calls.

When no calls are parked against CPE line keys, the phone displays empty yellow box icons. Once calls are parked against CPE line keys, the phone displays a yellow box icon with the letter p, as well as a solid red LED (locally parked) or a flashing red LED (remotely parked) to indicate the call park status. Press and hold the CPE line key that has a parked call to see more details about the parked caller.

For more information on assigning a call park extension, vist Call park extensions at the Webex Help Center.

Changes to SIP Subscription 503 response handling during failover

This release implements new behaviors to the SIP Subscription 503 response handling.

Previously, when failover to a new route completed SIP registration but received a 503 Service Unavailable response to subsequent SIP subscriptions, the phone abandoned the route and retried failover starting from the highest priority routes in its list. The phone then attempted registrations with routes that might be available but at a lower priority than the route that received the 503 Service Unavailable response.

The new behavior upon receiving a 503 Service Unavailable response to a SUBSCRIBE request is to continue failover registration attempts to any available lower priority routes until both the registration and all subscriptions succeed.

If registration succeeds on the final route but a subscription receives a 503 Service Unavailable response, the phone keeps the registration to the final route and subscription attempts continue indefinitely until all subscriptions succeed. Any subscription attempt that receives a 503 Service Unavailable response tries again after the period specified in the Retry-After header or a brief randomized period if the header isn’t present.

If registration fails on the final route, the phone restarts the failover sequence after a randomized backoff period using the full ordered list of routes.

Minimum TLS version now defaults to TLS 1.2

As of this software release, fallback to deprecated TLS versions is disabled.

To adhere to industry security recommendations, Poly desk and conference phone applications have used TLS 1.2 as the default. However, Poly software permitted a backwards compatibility fallback to the older TLS 1.0 protocol version at the request of the service being connected to during TLS negotiation. The option to use the older TLS 1.0 version is now disabled starting from this release.

Reboot the phone at a scheduled time

Configure your phone to reboot at a scheduled time, time period, or day.

Important: Configuring the following parameter(s) causes the phone to reboot. Dependencies and overrides may affect other parameters.

For more information, review Call Controls.

  1. Open the configuration file.

  2. Enable a scheduled reboot on the phone.

                    `prov.scheduledReboot.enabled="1"`

  3. Specify the time, in days, between scheduled reboots.

The default is 1. The value range is 1 to 365.

                    `prov.scheduledReboot.periodDays="<value>"`

  4. Specify a time to reboot the phone. Use 24-hour time format (hh:mm).

    The default is 03:00.

                    `prov.scheduledReboot.time="<value>"`

  5. Optional: Set to a specific time to randomize the scheduled reboot between the time you set for prov.scheduledReboot.time and this parameter. Use 24-hour time format (hh:mm).

    The default is Null.

                    `prov.scheduledReboot.timeRandomEnd="<value>"`

  6. Save the configuration file.

Disable USB flash drive usage

By default, you can use a USB flash drive to import and export data on your phone. This new parameter lets you disable the ability to use a USB flash drive on your phone. Audio and video device classes (such as USB cameras or headsets) are still permitted when mass storage devices are blocked.

Important: Configuring the following parameter(s) may cause the phone to reboot. This may override any settings for mass storage, since this parameter disables all use of the port for data.

feature.usb.host.massStorageClass

0 - Disabled

1 (default) - Enabled

Improved troubleshooting for unintended reboots

Unintended reboots produce core files that can help HP | Poly support staff diagnose software issues. Up to six core files are now listed, and they can be deleted or downloaded through the system web interface for admin and advanced user roles.

Resolved Issues

Review the resolved issues in this release.

Note: These release notes don’t provide a complete listing of all resolved issues that are included in the software. User Experience updates, performance fixes, and enhancements may not be included. In addition, the information in these release notes is provided as-is at the time of release and is subject to change without notice.

Description

Audio

VOICE-77867

Calls from Genesys Cloud occasionally experience a one-way audio problem partway through a call when the OPUS audio codec is in use.

Headset

VOICE-78847

Voyager headsets that are connected to a Poly VVX business media phone using the BT600 adapter decrease the phone's volume slightly each time the Poly VVX headset button is used to select the headset as the audio path.

Interoperability

VOICE-78090

Poly VVX business media 411 phones crash upon renewing registration while a call is in the dial tone state.

Interoperability

VOICE-76642

Answering a second call while already on an active call can cause the original call to drop, rather than be placed on hold. This occurs in some situations where the OPUS audio codec is used.

Interoperability

VOICE-76151

Call transfer sends the call on hold instead of the active call when the transfer is performed using the Poly VVX business media phone physical transfer key instead of the softkey.

Network

VOICE-79823

Phones subscribed to services such as pickup groups can occasionally lose their subscription in some TLS socket failover cases, which prevents them from later receiving notifications to that group.

Network

VOICE-77771

Any core file present on the system is compressed to .tar.gz and optionally encrypted before being uploaded to the server. If a file fails to upload, the uncompressed version is kept and the compressed file is deleted.

Network

VOICE-77679

The X-SWITCH-INFO header used for location information in emergency calls with Teams SIP Gateway isn’t included when a Poly VVX 450 phone is connected to an unmanaged switch that doesn’t provide LLDP.

Network

VOICE-77514

If Poly VVX or Poly Edge E phones are configured with TLS transport, the phones don’t follow the subscription expiry set on the server side, which floods the server with SUBSCRIBE requests.

User Interface

VOICE-79473

Enhanced Call Center status messages were not translated to the selected language.

User interface

VOICE-79312

The Allow remote control on your phone?" message to activate Call Control doesn’t appear when the phone is in sleep mode.

User interface

VOICE-77309

Poly Lens doesn’t receive and can't display the IP address of phones in the tenant.

Where can the UC 6.4.7 be downloaded. There are links for the old firmwares, but not the new 6.4.7. I urgently need to load this to 200 devices via TFTP to units currently on T1.  T1 is far to slow for this size download in mass. Please help
